We're very happy to present an EP from Chicago footwork legends DJ Manny and DJ Phil. Both have had tracks out on the label before. The hyper-prolific Manny was a big part of DJ Rashad's classic Double Cup album, collaborated on timeless tunes like ‘Drums Please’ and featured on releases from both Heavee and Taye while Phil was also on Double Cup and contributed to the Nextlife compilation and a classic remix for Scratcha DVA, ‘Pink 22'. The four tracks on Feature Presentation hit all the bases and have been road tested for the last few months by select DJ's.
The opener Don't Worry is a proper, rolling set-opener building moodily into stuttering 808 drums and bass and a vocal enticing the dancers. Make Me Wanna is a disco flavoured juke track assembled from jagged vocal tics over a hard kick. The pounding tension breaks midway when a lush wordless soul chorus drops. Know how to Love takes a vocal and turns it into a siren over just a kick and throbbing bass which plays hide and seek with a slinky sample as the drums build. Battle track, Unblockable rolls looped boasts over a bed of bass and fx's, breaking into an arpeggiated synth melody giving the track a beat-em-up game energy.
