Lila Tirando a Violeta and Sin Maldita drop their first collaborative release on Hyperdub.
Lila Tirando a Violeta is a prolific and collaborative producer from Uruguay who's 2022 album 'Desire Path' on N.A.F.F.I. picked up universal praise. Sin Maldita is a Berlin based artist who makes avant-garde pop that similarly strikes an uncanny chord between abrasiveness and accessibility. His debut album,'You’re Trouble,' came out in November 2020 on 'Unguarded' which he founded with long-term collaborator Philipp Hülsenbeck.
Informed and inspired by such seemingly unconnected work as the late 90's cyberpunk anime Lain, which is also sampled on the EP and James Joyce's experimental novel 'Finnegan's Wake'; on Accela, they draw away from pop and delve into the realms of dreams and digital realities which takes as much from the sound-design of anime as songwriting, through surreal and mind-bending scenarios, rendering a rhythmically elastic, intense body of work laced with melody. Taking the concept of collaboration to extremes the release delves into the idea of 'Idioglossia', inspired by Finnegan's Wake where a private language is developed and spoken by a small group of people, in this case, Lila and Sin who chatter away throughout the release. You're unlikely to find another release this year of this detail and roller coaster intensity.
