Cooly G, Save Me
Long time friend of the label, Cooly G is back on Hyperdub for her first single with us since 2017. The two collaborations here feel like she's been soaking up musical trends like amapiano and drill and incorporating them effortlessly into her signature musical palette of deep bass, dubby vocals, sultry atmospheres and tough drums. Co-produced with Marcus Damon and laced with her smokey vocals, 'Save Me’ bumps along with a bubbling, stuttering log-drum bassline.
With the vocals of Ruth Brown gelling it together with spiritual weight. on 'We Can Find Love' Cooly finds a sweet spot somewhere between vintage Larry Heard, the rolling drums of drill and a jagged amapiano bassline. Ruth was a popular contestant in the first series of BBC's 'The Voice'. Classy and lush!
